As a past student at Lourde Hill College in Hawthorne, Tess and Adam decided it was the obvious choice to play host to themselves and their wedding guests for the night. The heritage buildings of the school are situated directly on the Brisbane river with full views of Brisbane and stare directly across to The Powerhouse.
As a DIY venue, we were given the job of Full Styling to turn the hall into an elegant reception for feasting. We lined the hall with long tables for guests to interact and at the head of the room, a large round feature bar stocked with gin cocktails and espresso martinis.
The week leading up to the wedding we saw a massive amount of rain and it continued to shower on and off for the afternoon. Just before the ceremony it poured rain but as the ceremony came to a finish, the whole of Brisbane became clear and we were witness to one of the reddest sunsets I think Brisbane has ever seen.
