It all started after Carl suggested he and Kylie head to the beach for the afternoon. As they relaxed, Kylie could have sworn she had heard a horse neighing in the bush behind them, Carl didn’t notice anything but did have to make up an excuse to disappear for a while. As Kylie turned to look up the beach, she spotted Carl walking towards her and beside him was Kylie’s beloved horse Bill who had been sold years earlier by an ex. Carl had managed to track Bill down and as he approached, knelt down on one knee and asked Kylie to be his wife.
You see, Bill isn’t Kylie’s only animal companion. In fact, she has around 68 rescue animals on the property she shares with her family and each is just as important to her as Bill. Fittingly so, she worked in a way to have each of her beloved animals play a part in their big day. This included her pet turkey who wore a custom created collar for the occasion and Penelope the Pig who sported a pink tutu.
I was lucky enough throughout my planning journey with Kylie and Carl to get to know their furry/feathered family members a little better each time I made a visit to the property. It was incredibly heart-warming to see Kylie’s love for each animal and I knew she needed all of them to be involved in the wedding for it to feel right.
Cut to Kylie and Carl’s wedding day and it was a true menagerie with dogs at the altar, Penelope the Pig watching on with a bucket of scraps, so guests could interact with her and a turkey gobbling throughout the ceremony. And of course, to do a full circle to where we began, Bill walking Kylie down the isle as she rode him into the ceremony with her Father by her side.
This one was definitely one for the record books with Kylie being sweet enough to leave these beautiful words on our facebook page:
‘One thing you need to know about me is I’m the biggest stress head you could ever meet. I was so worried after how unorganised and stressful my engagement party was that my wedding was going to be hell, I was going to be nothing but stressed and I wasn’t going to enjoy my wedding prep. One phone call to Danielle and it was like a weight was lifted. She thinks of everything, always replying so fast and was always so chilled out and organised. Every time I had a problem with anything, one email to Danielle and she was all over it. I really got to take a step back from the stressful side of wedding planning and enjoy all the fun things about getting ready for my big day, knowing Danielle was behind us making sure everything was coming together perfectly. We never once felt like just another number with her, she got to know us, our story, even our 68 rescued animals and even took the time to come out and meet them all which really meant the world to me.
Because of you I got to have the wedding of my dreams without the nightmares that normally come along with it, we will never be able to thank you enough for all your hard work, you truly are the best at what you do. Xx’
